What rifle should I bring to Africa?

The rifle you shoot with the most at home and is the most comfortable to you. Most clients bring a .270, 7mm, .300 or similar calibres.

Should I practice and sight my rifle before coming to Africa?

Accepted Answer

We strongly recommend that you do so, yes. We hunt on foot and walk a minimum distance of 8km per day if we are hot on an animal’s tracks. This means that you will be tired when taking the shot, so practice is key. Sight your rifle at 1” high at 100 yards. Also practice on a tri-pod shooting sticks.

What distance will we be shooting at?

Most shots are between 80 and 180 yards, occasionally a longer shot is taken if the animal is in a tricky spot and we can’t get closer.
